Friday Favourites

1. crayons, 2. headband, 3. tee, 4. tote, 5. bag,
6. barrette, 7. earrings, 8. hair bow, 9. mug, 10. print

Hey lovelies! Another Friday is here so it's time to deliver my favourite Etsy finds of the week. Sometimes I find someone who has exactly the same taste as me with their favourites and I scroll through them like a complete stalker ooh-ing and ahh-ing about everything... that happened this week, so most of these favourites are from HipsterDistrict who clearly has excellent taste. ;)

Given that Valentine's Day was yesterday and everything I thought these cute crayons are giftable to anyone, any time of the year, because that's what love is about right? Romantic love is only one form, after all. On a lighter note the gorgeous little bag with turquoise piping is something I am considering treating myself to after exams in the spring as it's quite expensive but so lovely! And everyone wants a cute little starfish in their hair, yes? Thought so.

Let me know what your plans are for this weekend! Extending V-Day into the weekend, or alone like me doing work. Grr!

Awkward And Awesome Thursday

Image via weheartit

Awkward:
- Colds. Enough to make you feel crappy, but not enough to justify taking the day off. Worst illness ever!
- The lack of time I have had for reading lately, and my goodreads telling me I'm officially behind. :(
- The eternal feeling of loss when your pet jumps off the bed, which my cat did yesterday. #mean
- Counting down the days to March/warmer weather...

Awesome:
- Getting fat on pancakes this week! Forever an awesome thing.
- Joining the gym to counteract the above... and feeling amazing after spinning sessions!
- Watching Warm Bodies at the weekend which was a great film, and discovering the soundtrack on Spotify which is just as great.
- Spending time with my boy on Valentine's day before he goes away for the weekend. :)
- Giving out my own Valentine's to my friends who were feeling down about it! Giving = warm fuzzy feeling.

Have you guys got any Valentine's day plans?

New Shoes Are Always A Great Thing

Hey lovelies! I apologise for my very unintended absence - I had a couple of personal things going on and was completely zapped of all energy from a cold. Boo! I'm back now though and today is just a quick post about my lovely New Look shoes that I got for £18 with a student discount!

These definitely aren't the fanciest shoes but I have a serious lack of pointed toe heels in my wardrobe and a general lack of heels that are suitable for less dressy events like meals out. (The rest of my heels are pretty high...!) I find that these kinds of heels are perfect for wearing with trousers and a blazer and add a touch of class without being too over-the-top. I can't wait to wear them out for my friend's birthday next week :)

What gems have you bought recently? And more importantly... did you miss me! ;)

Friday Favourites

Hey everyone, it's Friday! Time to celebrate the end of a particularly busy week for me as I had two essay deadlines. Putting this Friday Favourites together was particularly fun as there is just so much awesome stuff on Etsy all the time. It really is a great way to support independent sellers!

I think the most awesome thing here is definitely the coat in the top left corner - it's vintage and yet fits in perfectly with modern day style! I love it. Also, how cute are the macaron necklaces?! There are loads of beautiful food-related pieces there so it's definitely worth a look. Lastly my obsession for temporary tattoos is being stoked by the sudden influx of them on Etsy - these winter-themed ones are gorgeous!

Let me know what you're doing this weekend, have a great one! :)

Estée Lauder Primer and Eyelash Primer Review

Hey guys! I'd not even thought of investing in a primer of any sorts but I'd heard people say that they were worth it. When I bought my mum's birthday present recently from Estée Lauder they had an offer for two sample sized products to be sent also, which I sneakily took for myself. (Heehee!) I chose the Matte Perfecting Primer and the Lash Primer Plus and have been very pleased with them despite the reviews.

As someone who has never used a primer before this is the only one I've used and other primers out there may be better, but I was really pleased with this! The product is meant to create a matte finish and minimise oiliness, which I think it does really well. When applied it feels like silk and creates a much better finish for foundation than just using foundation on its own. I did this yesterday and was actually shocked at the difference it makes using a primer! In short: eff da haterz. ;) Also this tiny little bottle has lasted at least a month and a half, so I'm very impressed.

I have to confess that I'm less impressed with the eyelash primer, which is intended to create more volume and length and generally make your mascara go the extra mile. I didn't notice much difference with volume but I would say it increases lash length a little, and I've never had a problem with the staying power of a mascara so it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. As a freebie it's a nice little extra, but I probably won't repurchase this.

Do you guys have any Estée Lauder products? What do you think of them?

Beauty Resolutions #2: Perfumes

I'm back again with I suppose what can be referred to as a mini-series, this time focusing on the perfumes I want to use up this year! I did have a recent beauty purge a couple of months ago so I got rid of a few then, but that still left me with a few nice ones that I can't wait to wear. They are...

A bit of a modern classic these days, I received this one for my birthday a few months ago. It's a lovely floral scent that's really great for the summer, and fades quite quickly so it's a delicate scent. I actually prefer this rather than stronger scents like Chanel so it suits me but it's not for everyone!

I posted about this recently here, not much more to say apart from that it's great for special occasions  Also I suppose it breaks my rule which I mentioned above about stronger scents, but it's so nice I just don't care. ;)

3. Hugo for women by Hugo Boss
This is the oldest one of the selection here as I've had it for a least a couple of years (eek!). I can't see it go to waste though so it's the one I'm currently using for everyday wear. It's quite a masculine scent at first but fades quickly to become a lot more subtle which is why I like it. It's probably the cheapest of all of them so it's perfect for everyday wear in this sense!

These two are my favourites and most definitely serve as special occasion scents! They're the most expensive, retailing at approx £45 each, but they're so luxurious and lovely to wear that they'd both be worth repurchasing. Versace is more classic in its scent whereas Burberry's is a little more floral, but I love them both and always reach for them on a night out.

What are your favourite perfumes?

Friday Favourites

1. plate, 2. phone holder, 3. tee, 4. dress, 5. print,

Hey everyone, it's Friday! TGIF! I'm here again to share some of the things I'm loving on Etsy this week. To start it off, I thought the phone holder was a really cute idea and would look really good on a desk at home or at the office. It could perhaps be paired with the awesome Cookie Monster mug which holds biscuits in! What a great idea! Lastly like all things fox related that seem to end up on this feature, I love the little fox print, and it's so cheap too! Gotta love bargain pieces of art.

Let me know what you're getting up to this weekend! I'll be busy being the ultimate cat lady as usual reading and watching films. ;)
